Effective Social Media – it really works!

This review of the Pacific Connect x Coconut Wireless Effective Social Media Workshop is provided by: Anthea Sami-Fiji Cancer Society.

The effective social media workshop that was facilitated by Pacific Connect was a definite game changer. For everyone in business and in the marketing sector the most feasible tool is social media. Thanks for the amazing mentorship and support of Mary Aue who had guided and provided new means for reaching the masses at no cost. She had allowed us not only to think outside the box but build new networks.

Speaking from a fundraising point of view for a non-profit organisation the pandemic was a hard-blow to everyone. Thus, it had greatly affected our income, operation and unfortunately our patients. But with the assistance from Mary, we were able to build on virtual fundraiser and have a larger traffic directed to our social media pages than before.

Fiji Cancer Society Pink-a-thon is a virtual fundraiser. The concept of the walk-a-thon is to raise funds doing any physical activity if their choosing and getting pledges from friends & family.

Pointers such using bright pictures with short narrations using an emotional angel to increase engagement. This allows the audience to feel engaged. Using stories to personalize the cause. These teachings are still very much reflected in our social media postings and had greatly impacted our pink-a-thon thus allowing us to raise more than our target.

We managed to run virtual fundraisers and events quite successfully and beat our target for these virtual events. We greatly appreciate the efforts or ICDP and Ms. Mary Aue for the great initiative for the people of the pacific and look forward to more wonderful workshops.
