Peter Fritz AM
Peter is the Chairman of Global Access Partners (GAP) and Group Managing Director of TCG – a group of innovative businesses which over the last 46 years have been at the forefront of Australian innovation. Peter is a co-founder of well over 100 companies and several business accelerators, an expert negotiator and brings access to his vast international network of government and business contacts. Peter also chairs a number of influential government and private enterprise boards and is active in the international arena, including having represented Australia on the OECD Small and Medium Size Enterprise Committee. He is the holder of six degrees and professional qualifications, is a recipient of the Order of Australia, and has received many other honours.
Michael Pilbrow
Michael is the founder of Strategic Development Group Pty Ltd which is an implementation partner of ICDP. Michael has 20 years’ experience in strategic planning, community engagement and relationship building with government, business and communities in Australia and overseas. Michael has a depth of experience managing relationships with and on behalf of Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT), as well as experience in finding new and innovative solutions to difficult challenges. He has led major strategic reviews in the Pacific for DFAT, the Australian Federal Police and the World Bank, and designed the DFAT-funded Australia Africa Partnerships Facility (AAPF).
Michael Collins
Michael is a partner at Strategic Development Group. Michael has 12 years’ experience in strategy development, program management and research across the Australian Government, including with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the Office of National Assessments (ONA) and the Australian parliament. He also has experience leading grassroots NGOs and small business. Michael helps governments and companies to design and evaluate programs that generate lasting change. Fluent in bahasa Indonesia, Michael has lived and worked in Indonesia and Kenya, and worked throughout Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
John Davidson
John Davidson is a former Senior Executive of DFAT with excellent links to the Pacific, having headed up AusAID’s PNG Program, the Pacific Regional Program and the Office of Development Effectiveness (ODE). John is advising ICDP through the support of the Strategic Development Group.
Professor Attila Brungs
Professor Brungs is Chair, ICDP’s Academic Advisory Network; and the Vice Chancellor and President of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Prior to his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at UTS in September 2009, Professor Brungs was general manager, science investment, strategy and performance at CSIRO. His role incorporated the determination of broad research direction and resource allocation, performance monitoring of CSIRO research programs including its flagship programs, and the development and implementation of organisational strategy.
Before joining CSIRO in 2002 Professor Brungs was a senior manager at McKinsey and Co, managing teams in North America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. He has also been on the board of a number of entities including not-for-profit organisations such as Greening Australia NSW. Professor Brungs is a Rhodes Scholar, with a Doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry from Oxford University, and recipient of the University Medal in Industrial Chemistry from the University of New South Wales.
Professor Roberta Ryan
ICDP’s academic network also includes Professor Ryan, Director of UTS Institute for Public Policy & Governance (IPPG). Professor Roberta Ryan is a leading social researcher and policy, program evaluation and stakeholder engagement practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors. With a strong interest in the relationship between people and places she has worked in areas of community services, strategic planning, land use planning, sustainability, organisational change and development and citizen engagement. UTS:IPPG has worked extensively in PNG, the Solomon Islands and Fiji on strategic planning, service provision and local governance. Its activities are directed towards improving the institutional capacity of governments at all levels to deliver strong leadership, public value, good governance and improved democracy.
