Global Access Partners (GAP) is an independent non-profit institute for active policy that initiates and facilitates strategic debate on the most pressing social, economic and structural issues facing Australia and the world today. It acts as a catalyst for policy implementation and new economic opportunities. ICDP was established by GAP in July 2017. Through its ‘Second Track’ process, GAP generates links in all sectors to increase stakeholder participation in implementation of government policy and promotes innovative, cross-disciplinary approaches to problem-solving. Supported by GAP’s alumni network of over 4,000 people in a broad range of fields, ICDP draws on the very best of Australian expertise and utilises the GAP model to expand and improve strategic discussions, policy processes and networks between Australia and the Pacific.

It is one of the largest providers of pro bono legal services, donating over 250,000 hours globally in 2023. DLA Piper has an ongoing pro bono commitment to the Pacific region which now includes an active role in supporting the development of the Pacific entrepreneurial system. ICDP and DLA Piper has partnered since 2022 for the delivery of interactive capacity building workshops for entrepreneurs in Papua New Guinea and Fiji. ICDP is delighted to be collaborating with DLA Piper to assist Pacific entrepreneurs and small businesses overcome practical challenges that affect sustainability and growth.
