STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT
ICDP Board, staff and strategic partners conduct introductory visits and discussions in the Pacific with key business, government, community and academic leaders. Such visits include informal networking sessions with current and emerging leaders.
These visits aim to identify strategic opportunities to strengthen and build Australian-Pacific connections and facilitate activities to take advantage of enhanced digital connectivity (see below diagram). Through Pacific Connect, ICDP seeks to support or supplement such opportunities by inviting Australian individuals and organisations to participate in future dialogues and workshops with Pacific Island government, business, academic and community organisations and individuals to progress potential projects. As part of its commitment to the Pacific Connect Community, ICDP encourages its network from Australia to connect and mentor individuals when visiting the Pacific. ICDP facilitates further networking when Pacific-based members visit Australia.
