
Looking back at 2019
As we count down to the end of 2019, the team at ICDP thought it would be a great idea to take stock and reflect on all of this year’s achievements and programme developments. Another productive and rewarding year for our small team, and we are honoured to have shared it with our inspiring and close-knit Community throughout the Pacific and across Australia.

Report on Vanuatu ‘Digital Marketplace and Online Services’ Dialogue
The International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP) hosted a second dialogue in Port Vila, Vanuatu from 15-16 July 2019. The focus was on digital marketplaces and online services. The report is available for reading.

Building peaceful partnerships in the Pacific
I attended the International Centre for Democratic Partnership's (ICDP) Pacific Connect Financial Education Dialogue to boost my financial knowledge, and to learn more about the Pacific Islands and the people who call them home.

Reflections from a facilitator on a Tonga Dialogue
With a 6:45pm departure from Sydney, and a two-hour time difference, we did not arrive in Nuku'alofa until 2:00am. We were still met with a full terminal of people ready to joyously welcome home what appeared to be half a plane full of Tongan seasonal workers returning from several months in Australia. A very noisy and colourful welcome to Tonga!

Pacific Connect Tonga 2019 Network Dialogue Communique
We, the participants of the Pacific Connect Network Dialogue on Digital Solutions to Local Challenges, convened on 18-19 November 2019 in Nuku’alofa, Tonga at the invitation of the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP) and Tonga Women in ICT. The Dialogue was supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Blockchain Potential in the Pacific Islands
Thinking of the Pacific often conjures up images of an idyllic tropical paradise with happy, smiling people in laid-back settings where time almost stands still. So, it may be surprising to some that the Pacific is the testing ground for some very interesting use cases of blockchain technology.

ICDP joins forces for Mobile Me Mapathon
On International Day of People With Disability (December 3), ICDP is joining hands with our friends and partners from across the Pacific to map a section of Suva and take part in a wide-range of fun activities at Sukuna Park, Fiji.
