In early May 2023, we had the privilege of hosting a series of exclusive corporate lunches across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. These intimate gatherings brought together key stakeholders and thought leaders, featuring Taulapapa Brenda Heather-Latu in conversation with esteemed guests like Hon Christopher Pyne and Dr Ian Watt AC. Together, we delved into pressing issues and opportunities, exploring avenues of support for Samoa through initiatives like the Commonwealth School of Compliance and workshop series.

In June, our virtual gathering brought together 59 individuals from across the Pacific, all eager to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurial resilience. Facilitated by Suva, Fiji Hub Coordinator, Salote Waiqairatu, this event catered to Pacific-based entrepreneurs and business owners seeking insights into building resilient businesses. The sessions focused on three key areas: risk assessment and planning, crisis management and response, and adaptability and innovation. Attendees are left equipped with invaluable strategies to fortify their ventures against adversities in an ever-evolving business landscape.

Come July, our online dialogue with Caroline Awaita our Port Moresby Hub Coordinator provided aspiring entrepreneurs across the Pacific with essential tools and knowledge to kickstart their ventures. The ‘Business Series: Starting and Marketing Your Business’ gathered 27 individuals in the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey. From ideation to execution, participants gained insights into crafting solid business plans, identifying target audiences, and leveraging networking opportunities for business growth. The event offered a platform for passionate entrepreneurs to connect, learn, and propel their businesses forward.

In August, we dedicated an event to championing women’s empowerment in the Pacific Islands. Facilitated by Nadi, Fiji Hub Coordinator Shurti Kumar, the ‘Empowering Women for Success Dialogue’ aimed to uplift and support women in their pursuit of business success. With 46 registrants and 25 attendees online, participants engaged in meaningful discussions, gaining practical insights and strategies essential for personal and professional growth. The dialogue emphasized the importance of collaboration and support among women in the Pacific region, fostering a community of empowered entrepreneurs poised to make meaningful contributions to their communities and economies.

November brought forth a vibrant discussion on the transformative power of optimism in entrepreneurship. Facilitated by Catherine Fritz-Kalish and featuring guest speaker Victor Perton, the ‘Optimism is the Superpower of the Entrepreneur Dialogue’ encouraged attendees to harness optimism as a driving force in their entrepreneurial endeavours. With 48 registrants and 25 online attendees, the event explored the profound impact of a positive mindset, offering inspiring testimonies and engaging discourse. Attendees were encouraged to adopt an optimistic outlook, recognizing it as a catalyst for innovation, resilience, and success in both business and life.
