Agroforestry to improve food security in Vanuatu
When Cyclone Pam hit Vanuatu in 2015, sweeping away gardens, trees and houses, a network of local organisations set about ending food insecurity in some of the country’s worst affected communities. The implementation of agroforestry plots, plant tissue grafting and the introduction of carrots and broccoli are being hailed as important steps to end food insecurity in the islands.
