A Year Underpinned by Resilience & Community
There is no understating that this was a year to test personal, professional, community and national resilience. For ICDP and Pacific Connect, it began on a high with our fourth Women in Business Dialogue in Brisbane, then we soon moved to shock and bewilderment as the pandemic became a reality. However, with a bit of help from our wonderful Pacific Connect Community (PCC), we managed to virtually deliver a range of activities in 2020. The circumstances took our theme of ‘Australia-Pacific Connections for a Digital Future’ to a new level and fast-tracked our personal and business use of online communications and business tools (a help in many ways).

Tonga Women in ICT thriving in the ‘new normal’
ICDP has been supporting Tonga Women in ICT with virtual online training sessions, Sharing dialogues and many more. Here the members build and upskill themselves and have shared these training sessions with friends and co-workers amongst others.

Pacific Connect and PSP hold ‘Sport and Tech’ Dialogue
The International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP) brought together 50 emerging and established leaders from seven countries to discuss opportunities to create technology-based solutions in sport across the Pacific.

Finding my ‘why’ in Brisbane with ICDP
"This life skills training or workshop’s ultimate goal is to help participants be self-sustainable in this economy. Participants who undergo this workshop were able to explore different techniques and be able to apply the skills as preferred. Most importantly, the attainment of business and entrepreneurial skills for self-employment."

Building Australia-Pacific Partnerships through Entrepreneurship
"I found this to be a fitting end to this dialogue because in a way, all 20 plus participants were mini Fishburner vessels that were sailing out in the hopes of collecting as much supplies of ideas, knowledge and networks to take back home to supply our respective island nations." - Grace Mungkaje from PNG shares her experience at the Brisbane Dialogue on Financial Education.

Pauline Benson’s Inspirational Entrepreneurial Story
"My journey started here as most of yours does today, where will your journey take you? That’s up to you today." Founder of Pacific Finds, Pauline Benson, shared her inspiring entrepreneurial story at our last Dialogue in Brisbane.
