2021 has been an enormous year for our Pacific Hubs, which operate as pop-up hosting facilities in eight locations: Port Moresby, Lae, Honiara, Apia, Port Vila, Suva, Nadi-Lautoka and Nuku’alofa.

2021 has been an enormous year for our Pacific Hubs, which operate as pop-up hosting facilities in eight locations: Port Moresby, Lae, Honiara, Apia, Port Vila, Suva, Nadi-Lautoka and Nuku’alofa.
Opportunities come when we connect with new professionals, to share ideas and experiences. This has been one of the pillars of the Pacific Connect Program. I am a young entrepreneur and I have been a member of the vibrant Pacific Connect Community for almost three years now. In this article, I wish to share five reasons why you should join us if you are an aspiring entrepreneur.

The Pacific Tech Academy was established in October 2020 and is a collaboration between Pacific Connect and Common Code. The Academy aims to operate across six Pacific Islands; PNG, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji.
The participants of the GAP Pacific and Small Island Nations Summit, convened online on 18 June 2021 to discuss a ‘blue recovery’ for the Pacific in the wake of COVID-19. We also considered the need for an environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework to underpin greater regional resilience, and worked towards a shared vision for the region’s future.

Thirty-six creatives, entrepreneurs and industry experts came together for a half-day talanoa on ‘fostering a sustainable Pacific music industry’, the latest creative industries Dialogue for the talented and multi-faceted Pacific Connect Community. Music is unrivalled in its capacity to elicit powerful emotions, tell stories, preserve culture and unite listeners. Music continues to play an integral role in Pasifika societies and, with everyone carrying a portable device, the industry has never been more relevant.
