We, the participants of the Pacific Connect Network Dialogue on Financial Education – Women in Business, met on 10-12 November 2019 in Brisbane, Australia at the invitation of the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP), with the support of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
Press release: Following the opening of the Pacific Connect Network Dialogue in Nuku’alofa, the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP) of Australia hosted a welcoming reception for the participants last night at Ancient Tonga.
On International Day of People With Disability (December 3), ICDP is joining hands with our friends and partners from across the Pacific to map a section of Suva and take part in a wide-range of fun activities at Sukuna Park, Fiji.
Entrepreneurs, community leaders and representatives from a range of sectors gathered in Brisbane from 10-13 November to discuss how improved financial education and literacy can increase business opportunities for Pacific entrepreneurs. The third Dialogue in ICDP’s successful Pacific Women Entrepreneurs series saw 29 delegates from Australia, Fiji, PNG, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu collaborate in a variety of discussions, financial literacy and grant-writing workshops, innovation hub visits and networking activities.
ICDP heads to Tonga for the final Dialogue of the calendar year and the first of its kind in Nuku’alofa, bringing together emerging and established leaders to continue strengthening people-to-people relationships under Pacific Connect.
I’ve just returned from Fiji where I was asked to co-facilitate training to 20 middle management leaders within HFC Bank, Suva and was also invited to speak at the Fijian Human Resources Institute (FHRI) Annual Convention. I was absolutely exhausted at the end of this (in a good way!) and I reflected on how I had gotten to this point on my flight home…
The report for the 2019 Ideas Exchange has now been released. The International Centre for Democratic Partnerships (ICDP) and Global Access Partners (GAP), with the support of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), held the Pacific Connect Ideas Exchange at NSW Parliament House on 18-19 September 2019.
